This is an OPTIONAL indoor track meet for anyone who is interested. Indoor meets are usually hosted at colleges in the area. Some of these meets have high school events and some only have college events. For meets that do not have high school events, you should still be able to compete in the college events. Whether it's high school or college, you will have to sign up on your own, provide your own transportation and compete "unattached" since indoor track is not a sanctioned sport in South Dakota.
We think a few indoor track meets are a great opportunity for anyone who is training for the upcoming outdoor season. For a meet schedule and registration information- use the link(s) below.
You can get some input from your coaches about what events to do and how many meets or what meets to attend but remember Stevens coaches cannot coach you at any practices leading up to these meets or at the meets. You assume full responsibility for the training for these meets, gathering meet information, registering for these meets, transportation for these meets and any decisions made during your competition at these meets.
We will provide some "open track" and "open road" opportunities and may even attend some of these meets as spectators but we cannot coach.
We will provide you with some important safety instructions to make sure you are being safe but like any sport there is always a chance of injury, especially if you are not properly prepared so listen to your coaches about how many meets and what events to do and error on the side of caution. Many times less is more. One or two events at 2-3 indoor meets is probably more than enough.
If there is no meet information in the links below, you may need to do a search for the meet in Direct Athletics or contact the meet director.
