Scott Hagen is the long jump and triple jump coach at Stevens High School, bringing a wealth of experience to the team. He previously spent 17 years as the Head Track and Field Coach at Sisseton High School, where his teams won 5 conference titles. As an assistant coach, he contributed to 4 state championships and 1 runner-up finish. Coach Hagen has also coached 3 individual state champions and numerous state place winners.

Sisseton High School holds several state football passing records, with two quarterbacks ranked in the top 10 of the NFHSAA football record book.
Coach Hagen is a 1984 graduate of Sisseton High School and a 1989 graduate of Northern State University. He was a 4-year letter winner in football, a 4-year letter winner in track, and a 5-year letter winner in wrestling in high school. He also played 4 years of college football and 2 years of college wrestling.
